We're looking for enthusiastic, hardworking individuals to join our close-knit team at Bedlay Gardens Dog Boarding & Day Care this summer!

If you love dogs, enjoy being outdoors and don't mind getting your hands dirty, we'd love to hear from you.

Our temporary summer positions are ideal for:

School leavers

College & university students

Veterinary nursing & veterinary medicine students

Animal care students

Or anyone looking to start a career in the animal industry.

There is also the opportunity for a permanent position after the summer for candidates who demonstrate an excellent work ethic, initiative and a willingness to learn.

What the role involves:

Managing groups of dogs of all sizes (including large & XL breeds)

Understanding canine body language

Preparing meals

Maintaining a clean and safe environment

Working outdoors in all weather conditions

Providing excellent customer service

General cleaning, including dog waste and bodily fluids

Answering phone calls and messages

This is a physically demanding role, but an incredibly rewarding one. Dog handlers must be quick on their feet, physically capable of lifting 20kg+, bending and kneeling to clean and have sufficient strength to manage the biggest of dogs. Every day is different, and you'll gain valuable hands-on experience working with dogs in a professional environment.

No professional experience? No problem!

If you've never worked professionally with dogs before, don't let that stop you from applying.
